Deeply Rooted Magazine, 2016

The past 2+ years have been a rush of busyness, fellowship, and growth at Deeply Rooted Magazine. A small team of collaborators spread across the globe has grown into a strong network of good friends, and we've absolutely loved hearing from hundreds of women about how they've found encouragement in the pages we've published.

As we continue to grow and to look forward, we decided to reflect on what our original mission was when we began:

"To encourage, educate, and inspire Christ-following women into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ so they may become deeply rooted in their faith."

In order to properly execute that mission, and to ensure we're producing quality material, we've felt the Lord leading us to slow down in some areas and refocus on others.

Our team is composed mainly of volunteers who produce the magazine between other jobs and/or caring for their children. The existing schedule makes it difficult for us to balance these daily demands. Because of this, we've decided to adjust from quarterly to biannual issues. This change will give us the time to ensure we're shipping the best possible version of the magazine to our readers.

We acknowledge that our primary aim has always been to reach and encourage as many people as possible.

Production costs are extremely high for small publications, and not everyone can afford to purchase the resulting magazines. We've decided to refocus our efforts on putting strong, regular content on our blog, so that we can reach further with the Gospel in a more accessible medium.

We're also excited about several new products that we will be releasing over the course of this year, in addition to free digital downloads with every print purchase and additional upgrades to the ink and paper quality in upcoming issues.

In addition, we wanted to find a way to go beyond the printed page and the computer screen, to touch women's lives personally. As you already know, we're ecstatically looking forward to the first Deeply Rooted Retreat, coming this October! Aside from dozens of fun and creative surprises in store, the retreat will be a time for women to rest and grow, both from the wisdom of Christian leaders, such as Jen Wilkin and Mary Jo Sharp, as well as through fellowship with one another as they push each other to grow more deeply rooted in their Christian faith.

We're rejoicing in all that God has in store for the coming year, and we thank you for your understanding in these changes, and, of course, for your prayers and support as the Lord leads us all further down the pathway to becoming deeply rooted.

For His Glory,
The Team at Deeply Rooted
